What are dynamic wrinkles?
Dynamic wrinkles are wrinkles that are caused by the overuse of a muscle — that’s why we often see them between the eyebrows and on the forehead. Over time, these lines and wrinkles “stick” into the skin and don’t tend to go away after a facial movement is complete. That’s where Jeuveau comes in.
How does Jeuveau work?
Jeuveau is a wrinkle relaxer similar to that of BOTOX® that was created to specifically reduce those dynamic lines and wrinkles, particularly frown lines (between the brows). During this quick treatment, Dr. Yonick will inject Jeuveau into your troublesome areas, temporarily “freezing” your facial muscles, giving the lines and wrinkles time to work themselves out. This procedure is relatively comfortable, but local anesthesia can be provided if necessary, and you can expect to be in and out in about 30 minutes or less.
What to expect after Jeuveau
Following your Jeuveau treatment, you might notice some redness at the injection site. However, this will go away on its own over the next day or so. Similarly, you may notice some inflammation, but there is no cause for alarm as this is normal and will subside on its own. In the next 5 – 7 days, you should really start to notice a change in your face and notice that your lines and wrinkles have begun to subside. Dr. Yonick or one of his team members will give you instructions on how to care for your face after your injections and can give you some tips on how to get longer-lasting results. While your results could be dramatic, they will be natural and will not appear as if you “just had work done.”
