WHAT IS bl hero AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
BBL Hero is a laser treatment that uses broadband light to to target the skin’s underlying layers. Your skin will absorb this light energy, which helps it to produce collagen and eliminates pigmented skin cells. This has been proven to brighten the skin’s complexion, enhance skin firmness, and reduce the effects of sun damage on the treated areas. Patients can have this treatment performed on their face, arms, legs, chest, back, and shoulders.
Normal lasers use narrowly focused wavelengths to trigger a response in the skin, but BBL HERO uses a broad spectrum of light which allows numerous wavelengths to enter the skin. The wavelengths jumpstart the skin’s healing response for collagen and elastin production. Your skin will work to replace the treated skin with new, fresh skin that is less pigmented and is more elastic.
What can I expect during treatment?
Your practitioner will determine which areas of your skin to target, and then develop a treatment plan. Treatments average 30 minutes, depending on the location and size of the treated area. During the treatment, cooling gel will be applied to all areas that will be affected and you will wear safety goggles, glasses, or shields to protect your eyes. The sensation is most commonly described as warm pulses accompanied with mild pain. After treatment, your skin will feel slightly warm and will appear red, similar to a sun burn.
Is there anything I should avoid doing after treatment?
After treatment, your body will begin replacing the treated skins cells. During this time, the skin is more prone to sunburn, which can lead to pigmentation changes. You should avoid direct sunlight of the affected areas for 14 days and should wear sunscreen of at least SPF 30 with UVA and UVB protection.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS?
Results may vary depending on your treatment plan, but most can expect to see noticeable changes within a few days. Blood vessels and blemishes usually clear up within the first few weeks. During the first two weeks after treatment, you will notice your skin beginning to feel smoother and appear more bright as your body replaces the treated skin with new, fresh cells.
