PRP Therapy

WHAT IS PRP THERAPY?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is one of the most popular and innovative cosmetic procedures in the aesthetic industry because of its natural method and promising results. The procedure uses your own plasma to stimulate the skin, minimizing the appearance of wrinkles. It can also be combined with microneedling to enhance the results, injected into the scalp to stimulate hair growth, or used after a laser treatment to accelerate the healing process. If you are interested in PRP therapy, contact Rosewood Medical Spa in Midland, MI to schedule a consultation.

AM I A CANDIDATE FOR PRP THERAPY?

Individuals who would like to improve the texture and tone of their complexion are typically great candidates for PRP therapy. Since it naturally promotes collagen production, it’s also a great treatment choice if you have dull-colored skin. Speak with our providers about any blood disorders, skin conditions, or anemia to decide if it’s safe for you to undergo PRP therapy. Due to its versatility, PRP therapy is also an excellent choice for countless other patients, including those suffering from hair loss or simply wanting to reduce the discomfort and redness felt after a laser procedure or chemical peel.

HOW DOES PRP THERAPY WORK?

Once you are comfortably seated in one of our private treatment rooms, a small amount of blood will be taken from your arm and put into a centrifuge machine. Usually, we take around one vial of blood. After approximately 15 minutes on the centrifuge machine, the different components of the blood will be separated and ready to be injected. We will place the condensed plasma into a syringe and inject it into the designated areas of the body. This process usually only takes about five minutes but can vary from patient to patient.

WHAT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT FROM PRP THERAPY?

Because it uses your own blood, the risk of adverse or allergic reactions to PRP therapy is basically nonexistent. You should expect the injection site to be a tad red after the procedure as some traces of red blood cells are included in the plasma injection. A cold pack can be used on the treatment site to minimize discomfort and swelling. We recommend you receive treatments in 4 – 6-week intervals in order to maintain optimal results.

GLOWING SKIN

When you have PRP treatments, your complexion will be healthier and brighter than before, producing a glowing, beautiful appearance. This procedure is perfect for those who want to use a natural technique for skin rejuvenation that yields gorgeous results. If you are interested in this exciting procedure, call Rosewood Medical Spa in Midland, MI to schedule a consultation.
