And even though you’ve worked so hard and have come so far, you’re left feeling a bit defeated.

You should not feel defeated – you’ve come so far, you should be proud! It’s not easy to lose weight, and yet you’ve done it, and you look great! But, if you still need help getting those last stubborn pounds off, liposuction at Yonick Plastic Surgery in Midland, MI is a great option. Where can I have liposuction performed?

If you’re at a healthy weight or very close to your goal weight, but just need to get rid of some of that pesky fat that just won’t go away, liposuction could be a great option to help you reach your goals. While it is not the answer to weight loss, it can help complement the progress you have made on your weight loss journey. Often performed in our Midland, MI office to provide a more contoured appearance, lipo is commonly performed on the:

  • Abdomen
  • Hips
  • Thighs
  • Butt

With the help of Dr. Yonick, we are confident that liposuction can help you reach your personal goals and leave you looking and feeling great!

How does liposuction work?

Performed as an outpatient surgery in our state-of-the-art facility, you will be put under general anesthesia for your liposuction procedure. A small incision will be made and a small tube, called a cannula, will be inserted. This tube will be used to help lose fat that will then be suctioned out. Most of our patients can expect their liposuction procedure to last between 1 – 3 hours. From there, you will have a post-op team help you manage your pain and care for your incisions until you’re released to go home.

It’s important to know that liposuction does not address loose or sagging skin. If you are interested in getting rid of saggy skin, something like a tummy tuck or thigh lift could be beneficial for you, both of which are offered at Yonick Plastic Surgery.

How long does it take to recover from liposuction?

The recovery process is different for everyone depending on the number of areas treated and the size of those areas. Here are some important things to keep in mind regarding recovery:

  • Expect about 1 – 3 weeks of recovery.
  • While sutures are usually removed 7 – 10 days after your surgery, you can expect to see swelling and bruising for about 1 – 2 weeks.
  • Rest. Resting and taking it slow is vitally important to a smooth healing process.

As you recover, you may begin to notice some results after about six weeks, but it can take 6 – 10 months before your new shape is fully visible. As always, Dr. Yonick and his team are here to help you during your recovery process.

We know that if you choose to have liposuction and choose a plastic surgeon who is trained in both the art and science of the surgery, like Dr. David Yonick, you can get the results you’ve been working so hard to obtain. You’ve put in a lot of hard work to get where you’re at, so let Yonick Plastic Surgery in Midland, MI help you the rest of the way. Call our office today to schedule a consultation.
